When we know better, we do better! Birth Preparation is a cornerstone of positive birthing. Our comprehensive classes are filled with interactive activities, discussions, and lots of keen listening by the facilitators- to address your fears, and build confidence. Here you learn about practices that are evidence-based, providing a balance of information, tools, and support that eases the transition from pregnancy into labor, childbirth, and parenting.
We’ll be talking about everything from un-medicated vaginal deliveries (natural childbirth) to cesarean surgeries and everything in between. Equip yourself with practical tips and mechanisms to advocate for your rights, desires, and needs for your entire journey- irrespective of the place of birth (birth center or hospital).
You’ll leave with a well-rounded perspective and be better prepared to make informed decisions about your birth. Partners are an integral part of the classes- though you are the one giving birth, your partner is your solid oak standing with you and providing loving support. Connect with other couples who will have their babies around the same time as you, swap stories, and build your community- as they say, “ It takes a village to raise a child!”.
The course spans 20 hours, with 12 hours in pregnancy. The 12-hours series is for four-weeks and every class is three hours long.
Class 1: Mindful pregnancy, everything you need to know about labor: signs and phases leading to the birth
Class 2: Labour variations, Your toolbox of comfort measures for birth and what to expect in a hospital or birth center
Class 3: Labor and birth positions; interventions, informed decision making in various situations – birth preferences.
Class 4: Postpartum, breastfeeding, infant bath and massage, baby care.
Check-in at important points at your 35/ 37 /40 weeks via phone for continued support. Regular after baby sessions, for about 8 hours, covering all aspects of postpartum & parenting including 3 online Birth Home community sessions with parenting experts.
Fitness & Yoga
Pregnancy and postpartum are special times in your lives and our fitness classes are designed to make you feel good, to give you that burst of energy, and to help prepare your body and mind for birth and recovery in the postpartum time. Our one-of-a-kind classes go hand-in-hand with childbirth preparation, focusing on strengthening the specific group of muscles you need in labour and improving overall stamina. They give you that added oomph, as we combine heart rate rising and relaxing exercises- in just the right balance. You can do one-on-one classes or group classes as per your preference in your pregnancy and after the birth of your baby. We offer online classes so that you can exercise from the comfort of your home in pregnancy and later, along with your baby.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a profound, noninvasive, and non-manipulative healing therapy that works through gentle touch to release stress, disturbance, injuries, and deep-seated trauma patterns. It is known to benefit an entire range of issues from minor aches and pains to severe chronic conditions. BCST in pregnancy can help with balance and feeling good overall. During the last few weeks, when your body is ready for birth, BCST gently encourages your body in the right direction.
In the postpartum period, both you and your baby can benefit from BCST, especially for breastfeeding challenges.
